The Burrows

The Burrows is a participatory video project that examines cross-species intimacy through an imagined cohabitation of underground animal burrows. As research into queer ecology, The Burrows features queer participants who were encouraged to explore the pleasures of the burrow – to ground, to sink, to nest, and then to re-emerge. The Burrows situates contemporary queer portraiture within a utopic, mutli-species community through the imagined co-habitation of another species’ dwelling.
